Burn Permits

The Georgia Forestry Commission began issuing daily burn permits on October 1, 2008 as summer burning restrictions ended.

Burn permits are issued for the burning of sticks, limbs, leaves, etc.  Permits can be obtained at
www.gatrees.org. Go to "Burn Permits" and follow the instructions.  You can also call the automated permit system at 1-877-OK2-BURN (652-2876) or the local Lamar/Pike/Spalding office at 770-227-5522 or 770-229-3005.

**While not a requirement, for very large controlled burns we also ask that permit holders call Pike County E911 on their business line – 770-567-7296 – and inform them of the burn.
